Producer Lightfoot to jet into Adelaide to explain ‘Blame’ Game

Renowned Adelaide producer David Lightfoot will fly home from Melbourne to present a Gala Screening of his latest film ‘Blame’ at the Trak Cinema on Thursday June 16 from 6.15pm.

David executive produced ‘Blame’ which screened at Cannes in the ‘Cinema of the Antipodes’ program and had its international premiere at last year’s Toronto Film Festival.

As David is currently in Melbourne co-producing the thriller ‘John Doe’, he’ll fly home especially for the ‘Blame’ Gala Screening.

As wine and nibbles will be provided on arrival, this screening is a great opportunity for film fans to rub shoulders with one of Australia’s most prolific feature film producers.

‘Blame’ the debut feature film from writer/director Michael ‘Hank’ Henry explores five young vigilantes who, seeking justice and revenge, violently attack a man in his remote country house.
Their plan: the perfect murder. But to get away with murder, you can’t make mistakes!

‘Blame’ stars Adelaide-born Kestie Morassi and was the first time David had worked with Kestie since she starred in ‘Wolf Creek’.

Nikki Seymour-Smith, the outgoing Advantage SA Chief Executive and new proprietor of iconic restaurant the Star of Greece will perform Master of Ceremonies duties for the evening.

A Q&A session will follow the screening allowing David to discuss his twenty-eight year career in the film industry that includes the smash ‘Wolf Creek’; the cult hit ‘Bad Boy Bubby’; the critically acclaimed ‘Coffin Rock’ and the $AUD39.5 million ‘Rogue’.

David will elaborate on his role as a mentor to the first-time feature team behind ‘Blame’, producers Ryan Hodgson, Melissa Kelly and Michael Robinson. David will also discuss his work mentoring emerging Adelaide-based writers and producers.

Proceeds from the evening will benefit the Shorts Film Festival and the short film ‘A Very Foreign Film’ from emerging Adelaide writer/director Sarah McLauchlan.
