Prohibition launches home-delivered gin subscription boxes

The boxes will contain a bottle of Prohibition’s famed gins, new or limited-release samples and a range of other accompaniments.

Prohibition Liquor Co. (PLC) is giving Santa a run for his money this year with the announcement of a new, home-delivered gin subscription box.

The Bootleg Box, giving customers an excuse to get into the Christmas spirit early, is a PLC Craft Gin Society members-only box and will launch at the start of November.

The boxes are designed for everyone from want-to-be-bootleggers to gin be-ginners, and will contain a bottle of Prohibition’s famed gins, new or limited-release samples and a range of other accompaniments – think tasting notes, tonic samples, and garnish packs.

PLC co-founder, Adam Carpenter, says the announcement of the gin-filled subscription boxes follows the growing popularity of the distillers’ online trade.

The award-winning gin distillers will also stock the first Bootleg Box with a pre-release of their Limited-Edition 2020 Christmas Gin – a gin which Adam says will be wildly popular.

“The 2019 edition sold out in under four weeks and the waiting list for this one is huge, but PLC Gin Society members don’t need to panic as their order is automatically guaranteed,” Adam says.

“Our online-order trade has never been higher, with the global shift to online shopping, but everyone still loves a surprise parcel delivery – especially when there’s gin involved.”

Members of the PLC Gin Society will also have exclusive previews to new releases and access to Gin Masterclasses, led by PLC’s Adam Carpenter, Wes Heddles and Head Distiller Hugh Lumsden.

Each of PLC’s Bootleg Boxes is valued at $250 and can be purchased quarterly for $165 with no extra freight cost.
