You asked and Prohibition Liquor Co has delivered. After selling out of its ever-so-popular Blood Orange Gin in just weeks last year AND the year before that, the award-winning distillery is bringing it back due to popular demand.
Proving itself to be the ultimate spring sip, Prohibition’s Blood Orange Gin comes from a single orchard harvest with all blood oranges sourced from a property near Loxton in the Riverland. The Riverland has the perfect climate for producing the very best citrus which in turn makes the most flavoursome gin.
Cool nights and sweltering days are the perfect combination for the oranges to grow to their full potential before they are picked, peeled and distilled with the finest botanicals to capture the full citrus flavour. All of this is done within days of picking to ensure maximum freshness.
Head distiller at Prohibition, Hugh Lumsden, describes the mix as “loud and playful” with the hints of blood orange, lemon and mandarin making it the most citrus-forward gin yet.

After selling out in just weeks in its inaugural year, Prohibition Liquor Co decided to ramp up production to ensure the Blood Orange Gin becomes part of its core range with each vintage tweaked to suit the conditions.
The release comes after a massive week for the team at Prohibition after they announced not only the opening of a brand new gin bar at Penny’s Hill in McLaren Vale but were also awarded numerous awards at the Tasting Australia Spirit Awards.
Prohibition took home the Premier’s Gin Award, the Best Gin Award, and the Best Contemporary Gin Award for its Original Gin, plus gold medals for Original Gin and our newest addition, Juniperus Gin.
