EVENT CANCELLED DUE TO FORECASTED WEATHER
This October, the annual Prospect Spring Fair is back, and it’s looking to be bigger, bolder, and furrier than ever. On Saturday, October 25th, Broadview Oval / Yarnta Tutu Yarta will transform into a huge celebration with fun for all ages – two-legged and four-legged alike.

This year, the fair is also introducing its inaugural Pie Eating Competition, thanks to the legendary local institution Muratti Cakes and Gateaux. A total favourite and something people look forward to each year is the utterly adorable Dachshund Mini Dash. Up to 40 determined dachshunds will dash for glory, competing for the title of fastest pup in the North. Ambassadogs Coco and Honey from Blossom Box Co. are already wagging their tails in anticipation, and TOOP + TOOP will be sponsoring the Dash with prizes, giveaways and auctioneer-style race commentating.
There are plenty of new things to look forward to. This year, the fair is also introducing its inaugural Pie Eating Competition. Ten lucky participants will take on a 7-inch cream pie, hands-free, on the main stage. The fastest pie-eater will claim victory and a $100 Muratti voucher.

The fun doesn’t stop at competitions. Thrill-seekers can let loose on the classic amusement rides, including the Sizzler, Whacky Shack, High Flyer, and Teacups, and side-show games are sure to bring a whole lot of laughter, prizes, and a touch of mischief to the day. There will be music too, with The Drops, Morgan Bramble, Shindig Addiction, Boombox Bootscoot, and Brazil Nuts Orchestra all taking to the stage. Plus community performances by schools, local dance and fitness studios, including Claire Sander School of Dance and Zumba with Cindy.
As for families, they’ll be able to enjoy heaps of free kids activities, like Old MacDonald’s Travelling Farms petting zoo, juggling or hula hooping in the Circus Playground, face painting, and airbrush and glitter tattoos, or dive into a prehistoric adventure at the Dig A Dino site. Younger festival-goers can also get crafty with the Wild Awakenings community mural by artist SairBean, cardboard castle creations, seed bombing workshops, mini putt-putt, giant yard games, and more.

The Fair will have an array of community and artisan stalls selling a variety of goods and wares, including handmade crafts, clothing, candles, jewellery, dog products and treats and much more. There will also be a Youth market stalls initiative, for the third year running, which supports entrepreneurs under 25, giving them a platform to promote their business.
To make sure no one goes hungry, there will be plenty of food options available offering tasty global cuisines including South American, Italian, Indian, American, Filipino and Aussie classics. You can get your coffee fix from local vendors like Cannoli Box Co and Miss Sippy, adult beverages from Byrne Vineyards and Latino House or slushies and lemonade for the kids, plus plenty of snacks and delicious desserts.
The Prospect Spring Fair is free entry and is sure to be a fun-packed, family-friendly day. It is the perfect way to embrace spring while celebrating community. So, whether you’re racing, eating, getting crafty, or simply enjoying the festival atmosphere, the Prospect Spring Fair 2025 is sure to be a fabulous day out!
