Oh. My. God! We’re pretty sure that everyone needs to head down to the Port Elliot Bakery immediately. Turns out that the geniuses behind one of SA favourite bakeries have upped the ante this Christmas, boozy doughnuts!!
It’s the cult craze that has swept the state, but one of Adelaide’s most-loved bakeries is taking its holiday treat to the next level.
Year-round, the famous seaside Port Elliot Bakery boasts queues down the street as South Aussies and travellers alike line up to taste their house-baked creations.
The famous Fleurieu Bakery has unveiled their latest mouth-watering doughnut of the month – Brandy Snap Gingerbread.
Filled with a brandy custard centre, the sugary sweet doughnut is topped with delicious crushed ginger spiced biscuits, drizzled with biscoff and finished with a gingerbread Lindt ball.
The doughnut invention is always the highlight of South Australia’s month, and once again, Port Elliot Bakery has not let us down. While this indulgent treat is worlds away from previous Christmas creations which saw the likes of a Blackforest doughnut, White chocolate Tim tam cheesecake and cherry ripe, the bakehouse will attract the usual hordes eager to sink their teeth into the chocolatey treat.
But it’s not just sweet treats at the iconic bakehouse: The pie of the month is Tuna Mornay! The piping hot delight is jam-packed with creamy and rich flavours, with the scrumptious cheese filling the perfect juxtaposition against the fluffy, golden pastry.
You’ll have to excuse us if you find the Glam Adelaide office’s empty later today, we’re just sprinting to our cars to get there first!
Both the Brandy Snap Gingerbread Donut and theTuna Mornay Pie are available from December 1.
The Brandy Snap Gingerbread doughnut will set you back $6.75
The Tuna Mornay Pie will set you back $6.20
