Purchase one of these beautiful hampers to support Kangaroo Island

Kangaroo Island Stall 17 has crafted amazing corporate and gift hampers full of Kangaroo Island products to help support businesses affected by the bushfires.

The Adelaide Central Market Kangaroo Island Stall 17 has curated beautiful hampers to support KI businesses.

The corporate and gift packs contain premium Kangaroo Island products from producers whose businesses were impacted by the fires.

When you purchase a pack, you are directly helping support the Kangaroo Island economy.

The packs can be customised to your needs, and contain products from Kangaroo Island producers such as KI Spirits, LS beez, KI Source, Kangaroo Island Coffee Roasters, Kangaroo Island Olives and The Figgery.

Justin and Jane Harman, the owners of KI stall, came up with the idea.

“We became somewhat of a lightning rod that helped connect people to the island to show their support,” says Justin.

“With the help of Sealink, Con’s Fine Foods, Sabrina Mangos Foundation, the Central Market and wider community, in the weeks following the fire we delivered over a container load of food, bedding and other necessities, along with over 40k in donations.”

Justin says delivering these essentials gave he and Jane a chance to get a sense of how the businesses, and the people behind them, were being impacted.

Shane Leahy, from KI Fresh Garlic, lost his home as he was out fighting the fires, while honey producers lost over half of the native bush they place their bees in, along with hundreds of bee boxes.

“But even if they weren’t directly impacted by the flames, they were impacted by the economic downfall from the collapse of tourism,” says Justin.

“We had one producer who did a lot of catering, and of course, all the events and functions were cancelled. They had staff who lost their homes during the fires.

“We wanted to drive as many sales as we could for producers to keep people employed that desperately needed the cash flow to rebuild their lives.”

There are a range of hampers at different price points for all occasions, including a KI Premium Produce Bushfire Recovery Pack, Can’t Beat Them…join them and a Men’s Shed pack.

The ‘Can’t Beat Them… join them’ hamper was made in light of the panic buying that took place during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Why not stock up on some local, KI products,” says Justin.

The Men’s Shed pack was crafted after Jane noticed there were a lot of female-orientated hampers available, but not as many for males.

Within the perfect Father’s Day pack are a number of products that are great for men, including a Kangaroo Island Dapper Chap soap for men and a spicy honey BBQ sauce.

“We are blown away by the continued support South Australians are giving for the Kangaroo Island bush fires. Everyone who has bought from the stall or online since January have made a difference to the Kangaroo Island community,” says Justin.

“These packs help the long term rebuild of Kangaroo Island’s economy.”

The packs became even more important during COVID-19 as people weren’t able to catch up and see their friends.

KI Stall recently added gift cards where customers can include a personalised message with any online purchase or hamper, as well as a specialised COVID survival pack hamper.

These have been especially popular with our corporate clients wanting to say thanks to staff and business partners,” says Justin.

The gift packs are available online and in store.
