Qantas announce epic supermoon flight

The exclusive flight with Qantas will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the supermoon up close and personal.

Your chance to see the total lunar eclipse on 26 May just got a whole lot more epic, and although it’s not leaving from Adelaide, this is something worth travelling for!

Qantas have announced they will be taking flight with an exclusive one-off Supermoon Scenic Flight across two-and-a-half hours for what will be an out of this world chance to witness the blood moon as close as we could ever hope for.

Taking off from Sydney, the B787 Dreamliner aircraft will feature the largest windows on any passenger aircraft and will shoot above the clouds over the Pacific Ocean at 40,000 feet.

Onboard the flight of all flights will be CSIRO astronomer Dr Vanessa Moss who will provide valuable insights into these rare events as well as all things space and wonders during the viewing of the supermoon that will rise before your very eyes.

The incredibly rare sight is caused when the Moon moves into the Earth’s shadow and the breathtaking event will also be easy to see for most people on home soil too as Adelaide is in a prime location to witness such a celestial event from our own suburban backyards.

There are limited tickets to the once in a lifetime event; starting at $499, they go on sale today at midday.
