Qantas confirms new Adelaide flights marking airline’s return of non-stop international routes

Qantas is bringing back non-stop international flights from Adelaide, marking the return of direct overseas services.

Qantas has just unveiled a new international flight connection from Adelaide to Auckland, set to begin on 31 October 2025, as well as the opening of its first Domestic Business Lounge at Adelaide Airport.

This marks the return of non-stop international services from South Australia, offering a direct link to New Zealand and subsequent connections to North America.

The new flight path will provide an increase in travel options, integrating Adelaide into Qantas’s growing international network. The service is designed for easy connections to the popular QF3 flight from Auckland to New York. Seasonal operations for the new Adelaide to Auckland route are scheduled from 31 October 2025 to 3 May 2026, with flights four times per week on a Boeing 737-800.

Premier, Peter Malinauskas, welcomed the reintroduction of direct international flights from Adelaide.

“This new service to Auckland will bring South Australia closer to New Zealand, our friendly neighbour and a crucial partner. It also simplifies travel to New York City, connecting South Australians more efficiently with significant international markets,” he said.

Tourism and Multicultural Affairs Minister, Zoe Bettison, said, “The service simplifies travel for New Zealanders to South Australia, increasing the potential for tourism growth. Last year alone, we witnessed a 29% increase in tourism revenue from New Zealand visitors, with 48,000 arrivals.”

The launch of the Adelaide to Auckland flight on Qantas is now open for bookings with a starting fare of $699 AUD for a return economy ticket, signalling the official countdown to a highly anticipated service that promises to strengthen interstate and international connectivity.
