Ramsgate Hotel is a generational gem that has remained popular for over a hundred years of service. Overlooking the picturesque Henley Square, this historic hotel was built in 1897, placed in front of a jetty and used for loading sheep and serving beer to the masses. While the sheep are long gone, the iconic destination continues to serve the masses beer, alongside a huge range of popular food and drinks. Creating memories on the dance floor is also part of their DNA. Now things at the Ramsgate are leveling up even further, with their social media recently teasing their overhaul of the venue’s facilities to completely refurbish the site.
Renovations are still being kept hush for the moment, but big changes are afoot, with the interior partially gutted, and new pale green hues creating a modern edge, while the historic bar and details remained heroed within.
While the construction continues, patrons can still order from the bar at the back of the venue, and sit outside to enjoy an afternoon tipple, while the interior of the hotel remains off-limits.
The Rammy has already seen various renovations over the years, from small touch-ups to full-blown makeovers. The upstairs accommodation was given the modern treatment back in 2021, adding all new furnishings, repainting the walls, and warming up the place with some unique artwork.
The renovations covered the 17 rooms upstairs in the Ramsgate, adding amenities like shared bathrooms, kitchens, and lounges. The rooms were fitted with speedy Wi-Fi, smart flat-screen TVs, streaming services, and multiple power points.
Then the entire venue was painted white, bringing tropical resort vibes to Henley Square. Now the venue has announced big additions to most of their popular venue areas. The bistro, formal dining room, pool room lounge, sports bar, terrace, courtyard and the main street will be updated. These will make the views and nightlife even more appealing to locals and visitors alike.
This marks a new era for the Ramsgate Hotel as they continue the trend of innovating with the times.
The current state of the renovations is unclear, but there will certainly be some new and exciting things to see when it opens up.
It’s currently scheduled to be unveiled around mid-November.
