Rdio provides a unique mix of formats for consumers to enjoy over 32 million songs anytime, anywhere through a combination of free ad supported algorithmic and curated radio stations, and the most comprehensive catalog of subscription on demand songs, albums and playlists.

Rdio’s breath of radio and on-demand formats bridges the gap between the easy lean back radio listening experience, and the deeper lean forward discovery and collection based offline accessible catalog.

This Partnership further cements Rdio’s genuine commitment to fostering and supporting local talent, building on the brand’s existing support of the Carlton Dry Independent Music Awards in 2014.

Throughout 2015, AIR and Rdio will collaborate on various initiatives that will help to promote and widen the reach of Australian Independent Artists. This will include Rdio’s continued support for the Awards. There will also be a focus on streaming the Carlton Dry Independent Music Charts every week, via AIR‘s Rdio profile: https://www.rdio.com/people/ausindies/.

“Rdio is committed to supporting the local music industry, not only in Australia but in all corners of the world,” said Rdio’s Colin Blake, General Manager Australia & New Zealand. He continued; “We are excited to build upon our existing relationship with the Australian independent community and assisting local independent artists in extending their reach in 2015.”

“AIR and Rdio share a strong vision for the promotion of Australian independent music, so naturally we are excited to further develop our partnership with Rdio. We look forward to working together and connecting more people with the great music being produced by the Australian independent sector.” said Dan Nevin, CEO of AIR.

Since its beginnings, Rdio Australia has worked hand-in-hand with Australia’s indie labels to profile, promote and support local artists. To achieve this, the streaming service actively invests in the local music industry and continues to deliver holistic support campaigns for Australian releases, tours and festivals.
