Real Estate; Get Your House Sale Ready!

These simple tips will help you a million…

Happy New Year and happy new home? The start of a new year can mean changes to your life, including selling and purchasing a new home. But it can all be a bit overwhelming, right?

Well luckily we are teaming up with some experts on the matter, who will be lending us their genius with the very best tips on real estate. Enter, Turner Real Estate

“We’re very excited about the collaboration, we hope to help people with some ideas when it comes to their properties!” says Managing Director, Robin Turner.

We are kicking it all off with some fantastic tips on how to get your house ready for sale…

Keep It Clean This might sound totally and ridiculously obvious but you would be surprised… Some people do not have their property clean and tidy when potential buyers are inspecting. That is mistake number one!

“The properties that attract the most interest for buyers are those that are clean and tidy and are dressed with neutral tones,” says Robin.

Spaced Out You know that saying ‘less is more’, yeah well that applies to property as well. Keep the furniture and decorating to a stylised minimum. It will show off the space more… So your mission – should you choose to accept it – is to start de-cluttering the main rooms. If you have lots of pictures and photographs, keep with a simple theme and remember, minimalist chic is so in.

“The appeal of a property with lots of space is that people can visualise their own furniture in the home or consider what and how they might choose to renovate in the future.”

Out With The Old Having potential buyers coming into your home is the perfect excuse to give everything a good tidy. Be ruthless and start cleaning out cupboards, get rid of old clothes out of the wardrobe, and old toys from the floor of your kid’s room. Goodwill will love you for it. But also, it makes for a much better look when inspection day comes, and also makes moving day a hell of a lot easier!

Robin states that once those cupboards and drawers have more space, you can get all of your appliances and knick-knacks stored out of site. “Something as simple as that will make everything seem more spacious and look neater.”

Et voila, your house will be looking all spiffy for those potential buyers to wander on through and fall in love. Keep your eye out for more helpful real estate tips as the year cracks on!
