Like salt and pepper and ham and cheese, hummus and falafel were made for each other, and what better way to celebrate International Hummus Day than with some authentic free tastings.
To celebrate, Real Falafel at Adelaide Central Market is treating guests to free, house-made hummus.
From 9am – 12pm on May 13th the vegetarian falafel bar will cure your cravings with a range of samples as well as a free tub of hummus with any pita or bowl purchase.
Refugee entrepreneur and co-owner, Mitch Aldawsari’s philosophy of ‘create peace and love through food’ will not go unnoticed at this mouth-watering celebration.
“My dream was to open a traditional falafel bar in Adelaide,” says Aldawsari. “I wanted to create something that represented my home whilst also symbolising inclusivity and awareness of the gay community.” Aldawsari fled Saudi Arabia after facing persecution for his sexuality. He has since made it his mission to foster inclusivity and love through his falafel making.
With a recipe straight from Aldawsari’s grandmother, the love and passion in Real Falafel’s creations burst through.
Along with being vegetarian and mostly vegan, the falafel served is gluten free, nut free, and dairy free.
