ReBrand SA Competition!

South Australians tend to be a conflicted bunch – we’re never quite sure how exactly to define ourselves, let alone how to sell our great state. We talk ourselves up, and down. We love it; we hate it; we can’t wait to leave; we can’t wait to get home. There isn’t anywhere quite like it, but how do we really sum it all up?

Are we the City of Churches? The Festival State? Everyone seems to have an opinion, and from “Heaps Good” to “RADelaide” to our own “City of Lights”, there’s not much we haven’t tried. There’s seemingly even less we can agree on. Most of the things we talk about when we talk about ourselves refer to the past, not to what we hope to be in the future. It’s time to look forwards, not back.

ReBrandSA is your chance to tell the world about South Australia and how you see it. Share your vision of how you want this state to be seen. Help define what South Australia really is by creating your own brand for the state and entering the competition. We’re looking for video blogs or ads, no more than 75 seconds long, that capture SA as you see it.

And in doing so, you have the chance to win one of two prizes of $5,000 CASH – or perhaps even both. $5,000 will go to the winner of the ‘People’s Choice’, and $5,000 will go to the Judges’ Award. The ‘people’ are anyone and everyone you can convince to vote for your video, so make it good. And our Judges are a pretty interesting bunch – Lord Mayor Yarwood (if we can get him away from Twitter for a minute…), Property Council President Justin Hazell (keeping it real) and Glam Adelaide’s Kelly Noble. They’ll be judging you on your proposal’s innovation, sales pitch, marketability, feeling, alternativeness, coolness, vibe, mojo and whether you can make a pretty flower in their latte foam.

Don’t sit back and wait for someone else to steal your idea. Enter now. Do it.

Entries open 12.01am(CST) Sunday 3 June and close 12pm(CST) Friday 13 July
