Red Hot Chili Peppers Are Coming To Adelaide For Adelaide 500

In an early tour 2019 announcement, the Chili Peppers have slipped the Aussie dates on to their Twitter feed, and we couldn’t be more excited.

Glam Adelaide is excited to be breaking the news that one of the biggest bands in the world is headlining the 2019 Superloop Adelaide 500!

For a few weeks, we’ve been wondering what the big concert headline act for the Superloop 500 would be, but in an early reveal, we’ve managed to find out what we’ve all been waiting for. 

With just over 100 days to go until the 2019 Superloop Adelaide 500, American rock legends, Red Hot Chili Peppers, are confirmed to headline Sundaynight’s post-race concert.
 
The special event appearance at the Superloop Adelaide 500 on Sunday 3 March, 2019 forms part of the band’s highly-anticipated national tour.
 
The Superloop Adelaide 500 will be the band’s only concert in Adelaide, bringing the action-packed four-day event to a close in epic style.
 
Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, David Ridgway, said that Red Hot Chili Peppers is the first of a number of exciting concertannouncements ahead of the 2019 event.
 
‘We look forward to welcoming one of the biggest bands in the world to Adelaidein March next year as part of the Superloop Adelaide 500. As we finalise the deal we are so excited to share this news with fans,” said Minister Ridgway.
 
“For just $99 on Sunday – and free general admission entry for all children aged 14 and under – fans can enjoy the day’s racing, a myriad of off-track activities, and then settle in for a world-class entertainment performance – it is exceptional value.”
 
Playing their first Australian headline tour in twelve years, Red Hot Chili Peppers will bring their unique funk-rock sound and high-energy performances to fans of all ages at the Adelaide Parklands street circuit. 
 
The band is stoked to be making a long-awaited return to Australia, andAdelaide, for the first time since 2013.
 
“We love Australia and can’t wait to see all our fans in Adelaide when we drop the curtain on the Superloop Adelaide 500,” they said.
 
The Peppers – who released their debut album 34 years ago –  are one of the most successful acts in rock history, often performing in front of stadium and festival audiences of more than 100,000.
 
After sold-out US and European tours during 2017 and 2018, the Peppers most recently undertook three massive headline shows at Lollapalooza South America.
 
In Adelaide, they are expected to play a set comprising of a selection of tracks such as ‘Dark Necessities’ lifted from their current and eleventh studio album, The Getaway (which spent two weeks at #1 on the ARIA Chart), plus greatest hits and classic album tracks such as: ‘By the Way’, ‘Can’t Stop’, ‘Snow (Hey Oh)’, ‘Other side’,‘Californication’, ‘Under The Bridge’ and ‘Give It Away’.
 
The 2019 Superloop Adelaide 500 is set to deliver another bumper four days of adrenalin-filled action in just over three months’ time.

The Virgin Australia Supercars Championship will headline the on-track activity, supported by the ever-popular Dunlop Super2 Development Series,Porsche Carrera Cup, Touring Car Masters, the Aussie Racing Cars, the ECBSuperUtes Series and Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup.

The 2019 Superloop Adelaide 500 promises many more exciting announcements to come, including Friday and Saturday night concert line-ups, as the countdown to February 28 continues. 
 
The Superloop Adelaide 500 will take place from 28 February – 3 March, 2019.
