Rediscover Adelaide’s live music scene at Cue Bar

Located on the busy Parade in Norwood, Cue Br offers live music every Thursday and Sunday night that is free and always fun.

There was a time, not too long ago, when live music was taken away from us. The joy of getting out, seeing our favourite artists or discovering new, local acts was but a distant memory. But not anymore. Adelaide’s live music scene is back with a vengeance and there is one place that does it like none other. Cue Bar.

You know the one. The pool hall and bar on The Parade with the funky décor that transports you to the Caribbean party haven of Havana the moment you step in the door.

And while they are known for their massive collection of pool tables (18 of them to be exact), Cue Bar also offers one of Adelaide’s funkiest and most diverse live music acts on the scene.

Every Thursday and Sunday, Cue Bar comes to life as a different band takes to the infamous Cue Bar stage.

Each Thursday night, be transported back to old-school Cuba with Cuban ensemble Lazaro Numa & Sabor a Cuba. Led by a Cuban trumpet, the band play traditional Cuban classics and their infectious rhythms get everybody up and dancing week in and week out.

Sunday nights are where things get a bit wild. A strong rotation of bands sees music from a variety of genres get the crowd going with local bands bringing the sounds of Memphis and Nashville to our humble city.

Timetable of artists playing at Cue Bar throughout June and July.

“People that have been to and lived in Memphis have come in (to Cue Bar) and said that it reminds them so much of the incredible music scene that they have over there,” says Cue Bar owner Tracy Marsh.

And while some weeks are the Elvis and Johnny Cash vibe, others are more a swinging scene that is great for anyone who loves a dance.

And the best part? It’s all free. With no cover charge, ever, you’re invited to join in the weekly fun at Cue Bar and while there is plenty of room on the dancefloor, you can also pop past for a game or two of pool all while just soaking up the atmosphere

Drink specials flow across all 7 days with Cue Bar’s $15 Espresso Martini definitely worth checking out. You can even alter it to your liking opting for a stronger coffee or sugar flavour.

Cue Bar is open 7 days a week with pool specials on Monday – Wednesday where you and a friend can play unlimited games for just $15.
