Regency Park Selected As ALDI SA Warehouse and Distribution Centre Site

aldiALDI Australia has submitted a development application to the City of Port Adelaide Enfield and executed a conditional contract for an eight hectare Warehouse and Distribution Centre at Regency Park to accommodate a 30,000 square metre facility.

Subject to the approvals process and expected completion in 2015, the new facility will support plans to build a store network of up to 50 stores, generate 900 new jobs and secure $300 million in new investment for South Australia.

“We are eager to bring the ALDI difference to new markets like South Australia.  Having investigated the future store network and benefits of the location in varying degrees, the Regency Park site presented as the best fit for our needs,” said Viktor Jakupec, Managing Director ALDI South Australia.

The ALDI stores will also offer an opportunity for local South Australian residents to discover our Smarter Shopping offering: a convenient in-store experience with a clearly defined product range of the highest quality products at permanently low prices.

Deputy Premier and Minister for Planning, Hon. John Rau MP says that the ALDI expansion into South Australia is a most welcomed addition to the State. “The benefits associated with ALDI’s decision to enter South Australia will be substantial.  With a series of new permanent jobs and rollout of store openings, South Australia is looking forward to having the retailer enter the market,” said Mr. Rau.

Following a supplier open day in 2013, ALDI Australia has commenced meeting with potential suppliers to be part of this exciting new retail concept. Additionally, ALDI is recruiting enthusiastic and motivated Area Managers in South Australia. Interested candidates should logon to www.aldismartercareers.com.au and follow the Area Manager link.
