Restaurant Revolution’s Adelaide Winners Open Their First Café

We’ve just found your new brunch spot to check out over the weekend.

Remember when Adelaide siblings Reine Mills and Asa Donehue won the reality cooking show, Restaurant Revolution in 2015? Well now they’re back and this time they’ve traded the restaurant game for a more family-friendly environment.

This week the duo opened Mad.Good Cafe, following through on a promise made to fans post-TV gig. With Reine’s energy and Asa talent in the kitchen, this is sure to be a hit with the brunch set.

There’s easy car parking, coffee, and simple coloured décor. They open from 7am Monday to Friday so it’s the perfect pit stop on your way to the office or school drop off. They have plenty of takeaway options available like granola, chia pudding, wraps and focaccias. Sounds mad good already, doesn’t it?

The menu is a small eclectic mix which will change depending on what’s in season and abundance from local farmers. We tried out their version of smashed avo – because y’know brunch – and then decided we couldn’t resist the banana bread. We’d recommend you do the same.

But what good would it be if we got all excited over the food, and forgot to mention the brown liquid gold you know as coffee. Here in the Glam Adelaide offices it’s like we bleed the caffeinated brown stuff, so it’s important we tried that too. Verdict: Mad.Good are pouring some of the best coffee we’ve had in Highgate in a long time.

Inside the new eatery on Fullarton Road there’s simple but fresh decor with splashes of pastel colours throughout. There’s even an outdoor area out the back which will be great for when spring rolls around. The service is friendly and the food delish. We predict an influx of local regulars will soon be flooding through the doors.

We probably should mention that Mad.Good, being a family owned business, is also a family friendly cafe. This means they’ve got a seperate play area and a dedicated children’s menu. Hellooo weekend outing.

Mad.Good Cafe is open Monday – Friday 7am – 3pm and Saturday 9am – 3pm
