Review: Grindr: A Love Story? – Feast Festival 2012

Presented by Feast & Nath Valvo
Reviewed Thursday 22nd November 2012

This is one for fans of Grindr and, lets face it, amongst gay men, who isn’t?

Nath Valvo believes in audience participation and enjoying himself as he winds his sometimes uncomfortable way through sex and life in our times. He plumbs the depths of superficiality and shows us how to enjoy it, while sharing stories, information, and self searching about love and sex, and the difference between the two, peppered throughout with his grandma’s advice.

Valvo’s penetrating observations of his Grindr obsession encourages thought, even through the laughter, and his questioning and finally flaunting of the ideas of sexual norms makes the show hilarious. His show is about lust and love and how to find them, or at least one of them.

A bonus of the show is that, finally, the rules of Tetris become relevant… Ummm?
