Rex Orange County, also known as Alex O’Connor, is bringing his bedroom pop sound across the county for the first time in more than three years.

‘Who cares’ is Rex’s first release since his ‘Live At Radio City Hall’ EP release in 2020. Released on 11 March, his fourth studio album unpacks the deep and complex feelings of young love, friendship and struggles in the music industry (but in the breezy soft rock way we love).

After his international ‘Pony’ tour was cut short due to COVID difficulties, Rex spent the bulk of his 2020 back home in the UK. However, the singer-songwriter didn’t let the pandemic stop him – after a lock-down style recording session with platinum-selling artist Benny Sings, Rex produced his fourth album.

The playful record also reunites the artist with the music legend Tyler the Creator on the track ‘Open a Window’ for the first time since Tyler’s 2017 album ‘Flower Boy’.

Alongside the album, Rex announced the lead single and video to ‘Who cares’ – a fun and catchy song called ‘Keep it up’ that sees the singer bop and sway though Amsterdam.

Rex Orange County has risen to the top of soft rock and bedroom lo-fi since his self produced hit EP ‘Apricot Princess’, featuring fan favourite hits such as ‘Television/So Far So Good’ and ‘Loving is Easy’.

Rex Orange County’s last sold out Australian tour, originally scheduled for 2020, was cancelled due to COVID restrictions.
