Ride free to the Matilda’s game with public transport

Fans heading to the upcoming Matilda’s games will be able to travel to the city for free on metro services.

Tomorrow night marks a historic occasion as the CommBank Matildas step onto the field at Adelaide Oval for the very first time. With a sold-out match anticipated, tens of thousands of spectators will fill the iconic stadium, creating an electric atmosphere.

In support of fans attending the event at Adelaide Oval, complimentary public transportation will be provided on all standard Adelaide Metro buses, trains, and trams, as well as Adelaide Oval Express services.

Fans holding valid match day tickets will enjoy free travel starting from 4pm until the conclusion of the last service. Additionally, complimentary Adelaide Oval Express bus, train, and tram services will be available before the match and will continue to operate for up to 45 minutes after the final whistle.

Given potential road closures near the stadium, it’s advisable to adhere to traffic controllers’ guidance and factor in extra travel time accordingly.

For those without tickets, there’s still a chance to be part of the excitement. Supporters are encouraged to join in the festivities by supporting local pubs, bars, and other venues, where they can rally behind Australia’s National Women’s Football Team.

This event kicks off the ‘Til It’s Done Farewell Series’ with a thrilling international friendly against China PR, the reigning AFC Women’s Asian Cup champions. A crowd of approximately 53,000 is expected to converge upon Adelaide Oval this Friday night, ensuring a memorable spectacle for all.
