As the winter chill settles over Adelaide, there’s a certain magic in the air. The crisp night air, the city awash with rainbow hues as it lights up for Illuminate Adelaide, and cosy mid-year events, make for the perfect reason to don your finest, grab some friends, and hit the town.
It’s also the time of year when you get to celebrate Christmas in July, because who doesn’t love some festive flair and an epic dinner. Luckily for those of us to gravitate towards good food and great entertainment, SkyCity Adelaide is putting on a fantastic night out with their Christmas in July dinner.
The event will be held on Friday the 19th of July in the stunning SkyCity Ballroom, which is renowned for its spectacular views overlooking the River Torrens and the iconic Adelaide Oval. Tickets are $199 per person, and include an evening of luxury, featuring a variety of canapés, a sumptuous seafood station, plated entrée and main course, and a dessert grazing station. The four-hour beverage package will ensure that glasses are never empty throughout the night.
Hosting the evening is Jarrod Walsh, a well-known figure in South Australia’s live event scene. Walsh brings a wealth of experience as an MC and event host. He is the match day MC for major sports teams such as Port Adelaide in the AFL, Adelaide United, and the Adelaide 36ers, and has spent over 20 years in the radio industry.
The evening will feature performances from some of SA’s well known musicians. A highlight will be a special performance by a chamber ensemble from the internationally acclaimed Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, which is sure to add a touch of classical elegance to the evening.
Lesley Williams and the Dusty Lee Band will take over later in the evening, providing a lively soundtrack for those keen to hit the dance floor.
While the evening will showcase fine dining, drinks and entertainment, it will also be supporting an important cause. 20% of ticket sales will be donated to the Childhood Cancer Association, which provides vital services and support to children with cancer and their families, making the event not just a night of enjoyment, but also an opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause.
With limited tickets available, SkyCity Adelaide is urging guests to secure their spot early, for the special mid-year festive celebration.
