Robert Johnson Vineyards releases three new wines

Robert Johnson Vineyards has released three new wines just in time for Christmas with 2021 Viognier, Shiraz Viognier Rose and Shiraz.

Robert Johnson Vineyards has released three new wines just in time for Christmas.

The new releases join the collection of wines currently on offer at the Adelaide Hills cellar door, produced from owner Robert Johnson’s vineyard in Eden Valley.

There’s the 2021 Viognier with a delicate perfume of honeysuckle, musk with lift from cinnamon and vanilla oak. There is richness, texture and restrained oak providing structure and depth. This one is 100% wild ferment with eight months maturation.

For the first time a very rare Shiraz Viognier Rose has been produced, beautifully elegant with fresh red cherry aromas, delicate floral almond blossom notes.

Meanwhile, the Shiraz is vibrant red in colour. The nose has beautiful depth and concentration of ripe Shiraz fruit with savoury nuances. It has a beautiful fruit richness and depth of flavour and a balanced intensity with fine silky tannins. This one is a wine of great elegance and finesse.

Robert says the new wines go perfectly well with his recent offering of pizzas at his cellar door.

“They are both fruity, and really compliment the flavours of pizza on offer,” he said.

Located in a quirky rehabbed church in the Adelaide Hills, the cellar door has recently started cooking up fresh pizza to go along with the 11 wines.

While having a fresh slice of pizza and soaking in the groovy tunes that echo through the space, visitors are welcome to have a taste of the newest releases of wines on their next trip to the Adelaide Hills.

Other wines on offer include the Grüner Veltliner with a lemon citrus scent to a Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon with roasted spice oak nuances and other wines of Robert’s 30 acre vineyard and olive grove in Eden Valley.

The new release of wines are also available at East End Cellars, Hutt Street Cellars, Parade Cellars, Central Market Wine Cellars, as well as restaurants such as Chianti Classico, Pranzo, Est Pizzeria and Fergie Macs at Port Adelaide.

Robert Johnson Vineyards’ cellar door is open Saturday’s and Sunday’s 11am – 5pm.

Walk-ins are welcome, but booking ahead via Facebook is preferred. Click here to book.
