Rodeo Food and Beverage on The Parade in Norwood will soon serve up specialty sandos, coffee and more from a fun and eccentric style deli store.
Rodeo is the brainchild of Izabel Czechowicz and Fraser Monfries, who worked together at Hoyts in Norwood before taking on the hospitality industry in their own right. Now, they’ve teamed up to create something special which blends their strengths.
“The contemporary or deli style eatery was born out of what we felt like was a gap in the Market in Norwood. We’re aiming to bring something different to The Parade in terms of lunch options and eateries,” Izabel tells Glam Adelaide.
“We wanted to circle back to our beginnings and open somewhere we’re familiar with. We’ve been community members for a long time so we feel like we know what they want and need.”
The fresh food options available will be a nod to the name Rodeo and its mascot the Zebra, which Izzy says is a Western style motif for thinking outside of the box and having fun with the menu items.
“It’s also about feeling like cowboys and not working for the ‘man’,” Izabel adds jokingly.

Without alluding to too much, the coveted menu will have a few classics which they’ll inject their personality into. It will be a fun combination of items like Jalapeno fried chicken sandwiches and classics such as Ruebens.
“We’ll have a few brain babies born out of flavour combos which we think are tasty. We’re wanting to adapt the menu over time, we can foresee evolving as we need, so we don’t want to pigeonhole ourselves,” Izabel says.
The menu will also reflect Izabel’s history as a pastry maker and Fraser’s skillset as a coffee roaster. Naturally, they’re both excited to bring their specialty to the shop with baked goods and Pogo specialty coffee which Fraser owns.
“I’ve worked across the [hospo] board and fell into back-of-house organically. There will definitely be an injection of our backgrounds in the offerings. It will be a balance between my passion for food and my skillset which I’ve learnt and grown over the past few years,” Izabel remarks.
You’ll be able to grab the delicious eats on the run from Rodeo’s service window or small dine-in area which will reflect the nature of both owners.
The fit-out will be welcoming and relaxed while also adorning quirky and eccentric elements.
Think fun pickle lights dangling from the ceiling, a gallery wall with local artist’s work, and bold colours. It will take on the traditional deli style structure, but with novelties which they feel like represent the weird and wonderful side of everyone.
“It will be the perfect symbiosis of weird and wonderful but also modern and contemporary” Izabel says.
