rolling thunderMusic in the ’60s meant liberation, not only for battle-weary young soldiers, but for a generation of artists whose timely yet enduring songs held a mirror up to the chaos, and expressed themes of love, betrayal and loss.

And these songs are set to be brought to life on March 7 2015 at Seppeltsfield Winery with a one-night only unique concert version of Rolling Thunder Vietnam.

As part of the Adelaide Fringe, amid the natural splendour of the Barossa, the spectacular concert presentation will showcase hits such as Born to be Wild by Steppenwolf, Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel and Paint it Black from The Rolling Stones.

Starring Wes Carr (Australian Idol) and Jaz Flowers (Hairspray), the concert will feature stunning projections from the Vietnam War era and spectacular lighting.

Chong Lim from Farnham Band, Dancing With The Stars is the extraordinary Musical Director and said that show demonstrates the irony that out of the ugliness of war came songs of pure beauty.

“The Vietnam War gave rise to gutsy rock rhythms and emotion-charged guitar riffs that evoked something of the wild energy of the conflict itself,” he said.

“The era of Woodstock, of Jimi Hendrix and Bob Dylan, also produced many sensitive and poignant songs which have become classics because they remain relevant.

Rolling Thunder Vietnam – The Concert will be the first major entertainment event to be staged at the revitalised Seppeltsfield, which now boasts a new $3 million cellar door and destination restaurant, FINO At Seppeltsfield.
