RuPaul’s Drag Race, the juggernaut reality competition show that has already expanded to Thailand and the UK, will be heading Down Under next year.

ITV Studios Australia have bagged the Australian spin-off with a production and view date in 2020.

RuPaul’s Drag Race pits a variety of drag queens against each other to find who displays the most charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent.

Australia has already performed well in the US version with celebrity drag queen, Courtney Act, taking out the third spot in the beloved sixth season.

As details on the network it will air on, or even hints towards who will host, are up in the air, there’s not much we can do other than speculate. Regardless, we’re sure that Australian drag queens will flock towards this when casting calls are made.

In the meantime, to get your fix – and if you’re a drag queen, for study material – stream the UK version! Available on Stan in October.

Stay tuned for more info.
