Rustic bar in 150 heritage-listed church: Oddio comes out of hibernation

Oddio, the multi-purpose winery, cellar door, bar and events space in Bowden, will resurface for Spring next weekend.

Anyone that has been to the hidden gem in the backstreets of Bowden otherwise known as Oddio – a winery, cellar door, bar and events space in an 150 year old heritage-listed church – is sure to relate to this all-rounder’s name ‘oddio’, translating to ‘oh my God’ in Italian.

Those already impressed by the cozy interior, rustic charm, efficient staff and all-round great vibe will be super excited by the announcement that Oddio has come out of hibernation and is opening again for Spring.

Oddio’s resurface will be marked by their first event on Friday 17th September with pizzas, new wines and good times, kicking off at 5pm, and followed with events over the weekend, and weekends to come, as the weather heats up.

Co-owner Greg Grigoriou will be serving up his wine label Delinquente and the other half of Oddio, Steven Crawford’s label, Frederick Stevenson.

Also on offer will be delicious pizzas by co-owners good friend, Sunny’s, who are bringing their food truck to the church. There’ll be a number of craft beers on tap for those wanting an ale as well.

The opening party is going to go all weekend and where else to celebrate the start of Spring then in a mid 1800’s heritage-listed church brought back to life by good friends, Greg and Steven. After a few reinforcements for safety, the exposed brick and stone walls were left alone so visitors could appreciate the history of this special space.

Oddio has no set hours so check their Facebook and Instagram to find out when this multi-purpose venue will be open. More announcements of musical delights, new release wines and food options are to come.
