Get ready to boogie, because Banana Boogie Bakery has done it again.
Hot on the heels of winning Best Meat Pie in the country, this cult favourite bakery has taken out the best Sausage Roll in Australia.
“The sausage roll is a bakery staple; something that everyone can appreciate. And they’re not the easiest thing to make. So we’re stoked.” owner Jason said.
“It was a bit of process. We had to make sure they were looking really good, that there was no shrinkage, and that the fat content in the meat was just right” he explained.
“It was a huge team effort, and I’m really grateful to all of our bakers.”
But there’s no rest for the wicked. The bakery is entering the Vanilla Slice competition in a couple of weeks time.
“We haven’t been on the podium for a few years in the vanilla slice category, so we’re crossing our fingers” Jason said.
This isn’t the first time the bakery has been in the news for its baked goods – they have also won awards for their meat pies and hot-cross buns, which were named the best in Australia earlier this year.
