An incident at the Torrens Island power station today has significantly reduced the State’s gas supply, and has put SA at risk of another large-scale black out.
In order to try and avoid load shedding (and a steamy night without air con or chilled Chardonnay), the Australian Energy Market Operator has asked SA residents to change their air con settings to 26 degrees to reduce the load on the system.
Our tip? Hit Adelaide’s underground bars (we hear the Henry Austin even has Fringe shows lined up in their chilly cellar) or get your candles at the ready. Charge up your phones, check out our tips below, and (of course) change your air con settings, because who needs another black out!
