SA border with WA to open immediately, COVID vaccine hubs revealed

Those quarantining after returning to South Australia from Western Australia can leave quarantine as of now, excluding people who were at the Four Points Hotel.

South Australia’s hard border with Western Australia will be removed immediately, however those coming into the state from Perth, Peel, or South West will require COVID-19 testing on days one, five, and twelve.

South Australian Premier Steven Marshall stated those returning from previous hotspots in Western Australia will only have to isolate until receiving a negative result after the first test.

Those quarantining after returning to South Australia from Western Australia can leave quarantine as of now, excluding people who were at the Four Points Hotel.

The Premier also announced a number of “hub” hospitals, set to be pivotal in the rollout of the COVID vaccine in South Australia.

The Royal Adelaide (RAH), Flinders, Lyell McEwin, Women’s and Children’s, Riverland General, Mt Gambier, Whyalla, Port Pirie, and Port Augusta hospitals will be utilised as hubs for COVID vaccinations.

The hubs will serve as bases from which vaccines will be administered and clinics also providing the vaccine will be supported.

A number of clinics will be established to serve in the rollout of the vaccine.

The RAH hub will be the first to open, likely towards the end of February.
