The Travellers Choice Awards are just that; the travellers choice of destination, whether that be hotels, restaurants, wineries or experiences.
The awards place the businesses in the top 10% in the world, and are are fortunate enough to have a number of them right here in SA.
Set in a lime grove amongst idyllic McLaren Vale vineyards, The Currant Shed creates stunning gourmet dishes from local and regional produce. The culinary team create seasonally changing menus that are eclectic and edgy.
Pike & Joyce is also a winning destination, with the 25 hectare winery offering stunning panoramic 180 degree views of the Adelaide Hills.
Same with Dudley Wines, the family-owned cellar door that is perched on a cliff-top on Kangaroo Island, just out of Penneshaw. Wine with a view.
Whilst you’re on Kangaroo Island, make sure you check out Kangaroo Island Fresh Seafoods. They’ve also been given the tick, with their fresh fish caught by local fishermen a hit with the public. You can dine-in, take-away, or buy the fish fresh and cook it at home.
Closer to home, the mediterranean-inspired restaurant George’s on Waymouth offer some award-winning dishes that are truly second-to-none. They continue to work with and support local farmers and businesses, providing diners with fresh, quality produce.
Alternatively, if the pub meal is your go-to, The Arkaba Hotel has also been named in the top 10% of pubs worldwide.
There are also a couple of South Australian hotels that earned the award.
