Dawn Patrol has opened their second location in Rundle Mall, which is a collaboration between the local McLaren Vale roaster and their friends from Boy & Bloom.
While there’s plenty of spots in the CBD for relaxed food and drink, this new location in the centre of Rundle Place not only boasts a speciality coffee experience, but provides delicious food delivered from Boy & Bloom’s Flinders Street kitchen daily.
“It was good timing, if we were ever going to do this in the city we wanted something that was central and Rundle place is a the perfect spot. The coffee always comes first as we’re a specialist and there will certainly be a high-volume of people after it here,” co-owner Dominic Ossa says.
Dawn Patrol opened a caffeinated cellar door earlier this year in McLaren Vale, honing their craft and retaining their credentials as bona fide specialists in the field of coffee.
“This new location will be a bit of a flagship for us. It will be similar to our McLaren Vale location but really stripped back and and a lot more fast-paced,” Ossa says.
They’re brewing using a machine that’s capable of delivering every shot at the same precise weight and another one which automatically pours, heats and textures milk, which minimises waste.
It matches their passion for the community and the environment, as they aim for 100% traceability. It means they want to know where their beans come from and who buys them. They seek to only buy, roast and deliver exceptional delicious coffee growers who strive to produce their coffee beans ethically and sustainably.
Set to open later this month, the cafe which Dom describes as a “kiosk” is well on its way to being fully built.
“The floor space is being developed by Mash Design. They know us well and did our original branding back in 2014. The aesthetic reflects us with local timber, steel and leather and simple elements which have been pulled from our brand,” Dom says.
The cafe will boast high archways, seating areas and beautiful cabinetry which will fit into the look of high-end mall. The menu has an American style twist with delicious small items, bagels, and sandwiches.
The cafe is a fantastic addition to Rundle Place which is located Grenfell Street and Rundle Mall and boasts a range of great shops like the newly opened fashion store Nude Lucy.
