South Australian company Urban Habitats has been named the state’s top home design company, and after seeing the gorgeous builds, we understand why!
The company was awarded Residential Builder of the Year at the Master Builders Association of SA Building Excellence Awards last week, an event presented by Premier Steven Marshall.
As well as taking home the major award, Urban Habitats were also awarded “Best Renovation/Addition over $1 million for Northgate House,” which they both designed and built.
While it’s not the first time Urban Habitats have been awarded at the Building Excellence Awards, this year was particularly special for Directors Jock Merrigan and Josh Semmler.
“We had identified a gap in the market a while ago for someone to offer really high quality build credentials packaged with high quality design,” says Josh Semmler.
“So we focused on developing our in-house design studio, specialized in producing really inspiring, award winning residential designs.”
“We have a brilliant, ambitious team of architects, interior designers and project managers who are integral to ensuring we meet the high expectations we set for ourselves, both from a design perspective and also in the final build – and it’s this quality and service that our clients appreciate and expect, says Merrigan.
The team works closely with every client when designing their dream home, ensuring there is no compromise between the initial design and the final build quality. It’s this commitment to quality and their design-led philosophy that placed our client into the conversation for the top award, Merrigan thinks.
“From the very first moment we meet our clients, we make sure that their dreams and the way they want to live becomes central to every decision we make along the way,” he says.
“In some ways, I guess it’s their dreams that enabled us to win these awards!”
“We were hoping that some of our individual projects like Northgate House would be recognized this year, and we’re really proud they have been, but we never thought Residential Builder of the Year was on the cards,” Semmler says.
“It’s really very special to be recognised in this way, and we would like to thank our awesome trades, suppliers and consultants for being part of the team.”
