Adelaide entrepreneur Tim Stollznow has been named the 2025 South Australian Pearcey Entrepreneur Award recipient. Tim is founder and CEO of MyVenue. The Adelaide-based point-of-sale company has grown to support major sports and entertainment venues across Australia and North America. Clients include NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, Formula 1 and the upcoming 2028 LA Olympics.
Tim founded MyVenue in 2017 in Adelaide and now operates at around 250 venues. The platform is behind over 100 million transactions worth more than $1b each year. In April 2025, MyVenue secured a major investment from Greater Sum Ventures. The investment will support global expansion into Europe and Asia. MyVenue is doubling in size each year.
Tim says the award reflects the value of recognising local innovation. While proud of the achievement, he always refers to the MyVenue team overall when crediting the success.
“I think that recognition of innovation and export and homegrown success stories is super important for kids in schools and students in universities and people out there in the business world,” Tim said. “There should be more of it.”
Tim holds an Honours Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Adelaide. He has a long history in the point-of-sale sector. He realised early that speed of service and workforce management were critical to large venues and identified an opportunity to rebuild the technology with a fresh approach. “We established that there was a technology gap in stadiums and arenas or sports and entertainment venues in North America,” Tim said.
Tim encourages other local businesses to consider global markets. “Businesses that can export should consider exporting and the US is a great opportunity,” he said. “American way of life is similar to that of Aussies and there is a ton of opportunity over there.”
MyVenue launched just before the pandemic, with COVID slowing early momentum but also creating an opening. It was a chance to prove itself locally, and prove itself it did. The company went on to sign with its first US venue in 2021, and now operates at major US sports stadiums for NBA, NFL (including at the Super Bowl in 2023), Formula 1, and even looks to operate at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
Tim says MyVenue’s engineering strength has been central to its growth. “We have great engineers and developers, trained from Adelaide universities.”
“MyVenue is a team,” he said proudly.
According to the Pearcey Foundation, “The Pearcey SA Entrepreneur Award recognises outstanding South Australian entrepreneurs in the ICT and Digital Media professions who have “taken a risk, made a difference and are an inspiration”.”
