SA fashion brand Katya Komarova says goodbye to Stirling store, sets sights on global growth

The South Australian fashion brand is shifting its focus towards global expansion and innovative retail experiences.

Katya Komarova, the much-loved Australian handbag brand, will be closing its doors in Stirling, Adelaide Hills, at the end of August 2024. It’s not a goodbye, though, but a new beginning. The brand is shifting its focus towards global expansion and innovative retail experiences.

The Stirling store, with its unique charm and personal touch, has been a cherished part of the brand’s community. While it’s sad to see this chapter close, Katya Komarova is thrilled to be venturing into new territory that will allow the brand to reach even more people and continue offering its exceptional products.

“The decision to close our Stirling store wasn’t easy,” says Katya Komarova, the brand’s Founder and Creative Director. “We’ve loved being part of the Stirling community, and we’re so grateful for the support and loyalty our customers have shown us over the last year. But as our brand grows, we need to adapt and evolve. We’re excited to focus on new ways of retailing that will allow us to better serve our customers, both locally and internationally.”

Even though the physical store in Stirling will be closing at the end of August, Katya Komarova’s production will continue to operate in Adelaide. The brand’s commitment to quality craftsmanship and innovative design remains as strong as ever as it embarks on this new journey.

As part of this transition, the brand will be investing in global growth and exploring new retail formats, including pop-up events, online experiences, and collaborations. These initiatives will bring the essence of Katya Komarova to customers worldwide and offer a more personalised and dynamic shopping experience, reflecting the brand’s dedication to innovation and customer satisfaction.

“We can’t wait to introduce Katya Komarova to a wider audience and to explore new ways of connecting with our customers,” Katya continues. “While we say farewell to our Stirling store, we’re looking forward to the future with enthusiasm and anticipation. Our Adelaide-based studio will remain the heart of our creative process, ensuring that every piece we create continues to reflect the artistry and craftsmanship our brand is known for.”

To celebrate the Stirling store’s final month, Katya Komarova invites customers to visit the store to shop the current collection and explore the SALA exhibition.
