Iconic South Australian Fashion Designer Liza Emanuele will be designing the new uniforms for SkyCity Adelaide’s venues.
Emanuele has created more than 90 unique looks inspired by the best of South Australia, blended with the glamour, personality and sense of fun from each SkyCity venue.
The local designer said that she wanted staff to feel proud and excited to wear the new uniforms and hoped that it reflected their passion and fun at what will be Adelaide’s ultimate entertainment destination.
“This has been a dream project – I can’t wait to see it realised. I have been working on these looks for the past six months and wanted to inject some fun and magic into the designs to create something fresh and different,” said Emanuele.
She went on to say that it has been humbling to work on a project that is so important for the state and applauded SkyCity for supporting the local fashion industry.
“This was going to be the pinnacle chance to create so many looks, from cool-casual to absolute luxury for their new and future Adelaide staff of all shapes and sizes,” said Emanuele.
Croupier uniforms will be updated for all staff across the expansion and current heritage building to ensure the style is consistent across SkyCity’s entire precinct.
Emanuele’s new design is modern, chic and memorable with a sense of fun and excitement. Importantly for staff, comfort will be prioritised.
Beautiful tailoring, custom designed fabrics, trims and accessories highlight the attention to detail Emanuele has shown for each piece.
Uniforms for luxury hotel Eos by SkyCity reflect the soft colour palette and modern femininity of the Eos brand, with specially designed features including custom embossed fabrics and luxury finishes to reflect the stunning interiors of the $330m building.
Unique uniforms have also been designed for the spa and wellness centre, individual restaurants and bars, security, hotel housekeeping and gaming croupiers, attendants and hosts.
SkyCity Adelaide General Manager David Christian said the collaboration with Liza Emanuele was a natural fit.
“Liza is a South Australian icon. Her understanding of the local entertainment and hospitality industries has allowed her to capture the essence of each SkyCity venue and reflect that in her beautiful designs,” he said.
Working with her long-time friend and mentor George Gross along with his nephew, fashion manufacturing powerhouse Robert Watt has been a rewarding experience for Emanuele.
“To work with all my favourite peers just makes this dream project better,” she said.
Construction of the SkyCity Adelaide expansion is progressing with Eos by SkyCity hotel taking bookings from 1 December 2020.
Several construction and restoration projects are also taking place in the heritage building with SkyCity looking to reopen in line with Government regulations.
“I am an incredibly passionate South Australian and we can not wait to make the staff at SKYCITY look and feel amazing,” said Emanuele.
“Styles will reflect the personality of each expansion on the many, many jobs SKYCITY will be giving our local community.”
More to come.
