Leading Adelaide chef, Adam Swanson and national sports dietitian have teamed up with Australia’s largest pasta company to support the Australian Netball Diamonds ahead of their game against New Zealand later this month.

San Remo will host a special pasta dinner for the world champions at the Adelaide Zoo on Friday 27 August. The dinner precedes the Diamonds’ clash against the New Zealand Silver Ferns on Sunday 29 August, to be played at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre as part of the Holden Netball Test Series.

This is the last time that the Netball Diamonds will play the Silver Ferns on Australian soil before the Commonwealth Games.

Adelaide restaurateur chef Adam Swanson, who is owner and head chef of Zucca at Holdfast Shores, has designed the dinner menu in consultation with sports dietitian to the Diamonds, Kerry Leech, and San Remo.

Kerry Leech, who is also an ambassador for San Remo, said the menu had been designed with taste, quality and nutrition in mind. “Adam has created a menu that incorporates pasta, lean meat, fruits and vegetables – all good sources of energy to give the Diamonds a nutritious boost before their game,” she said.

The dinner will be attended by the Australian Netball Diamonds, Netball Australia senior management and officials, coaching staff and representatives from San Remo. Competition winners of the San Remo Ultimate Netball Competition will also attend.
