We’ve got plenty to celebrate today as news breaks that SA’s food & wine revenue has hit a record $19.97 billion.
With this news breaking on National Agriculture Day, we’re pretty sure it’s the perfect excuse to grab a locally produced meal, bottle of SA wine and cheers to our success!
With almost half of our export market dedicated to food and wine, it’s not hard to see how we excel in this field. We’re not the ‘foodie’ state for no reason!
The nitty gritty details of the revenue record include our wine revenue increasing to $2.3 billion, field crops increasing to $5.3 billion, livestock increasing to $4.8 billion, and seafood revenue valued at $908 million. In other words, our food and wine industry is worth a motza!!
We’re going to celebrate this news with some Spencer Gulf prawns, sunshine, and a crisp glass of white!
We’re also joining the State Government in encouraging everyone to ‘Thank a Farmer’ by posting messages of support using #ThankafarmerSA and #AgDay.
