As fuel prices fluctuate and availability concerns grow, there’s a new resource helping South Australians find accurate, real-time information.
The RAA app, backed by the State Government as the state’s primary fuel information platform, is helping motorists navigate uncertainty by providing up-to-the-minute data on fuel prices, availability, and supply across South Australia.
The move comes at a critical time, with global factors continuing to impact local fuel supply and demand. In response, the Royal Automobile Association of South Australia has expanded the app’s capabilities, introducing new features designed to give drivers greater visibility and control over where and when they fill up.
Among the most significant updates is the ability to view real-time fuel availability at service stations across the state. Drivers can now see which stations have fuel, which are running low, and where stockouts are occurring, displayed via a live map that covers metropolitan and regional areas.
Users can also access current fuel prices, track pricing trends, and better understand the fuel cycle, helping them time their fill-ups to get the best deal. For those looking to save further, the app highlights locations offering the RAA Rewards 10c per litre fuel discount.
In a further boost to accessibility, the platform integrates with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing drivers to check fuel information safely and conveniently through their car’s display while on the road.
RAA General Manager Community and Corporate Affairs, Emily Perry, said the app is playing a crucial role in keeping South Australians informed during a period of heightened demand. “Motorists are more engaged than ever as they shop around for the best deal on fuel.”
The latest update also includes a statewide overview of fuel stockouts, giving users a clearer picture of supply levels. While the majority of service stations remain well stocked, some have experienced temporary shortages due to increased demand, with supply typically replenished quickly.
The enhancements coincide with a temporary reduction in the federal fuel excise, which has been halved for three months to help ease cost-of-living pressures. The cut is expected to save drivers around $19 on a standard tank
“I would like to thank the RAA for the collaborative way they have engaged with delivering this additional feature on top of the existing real-time fuel pricing information on their app,” said South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas. “In uncertain times, South Australians are entitled to information about how international shocks are having a local impact at the bowser, and this site will now provide a one-stop shop for motorists.”
