Mark your calendars for this September – Plant 3 and Plant 4 in Bowden are transforming its two venues into a maze of distillers for its highly anticipated ‘SA Gin Trail’. The event promises an unforgettable celebration of South Australia’s most exceptional gins, offering a unique experience for all who attend.

Upon entry, each ticket holder will receive a Plant 4 branded glass, as well as a SA Gin Trail map and booklet featuring valuable information about the participating distilleries. With over 20 SA distilleries joining the trail, guests will have the opportunity to embark on a fascinating gin tasting trail, immersing themselves in the diverse flavours and styles crafted by the state’s talented distillers.

“We’ve held a few gin and spirit days before, but that was pre Plant 3. So, we thought the [SA Gin Trail] would be a great event to activate and combine both spaces,” owner-operator Jonathon Kaitatzis says.

A number of well-known SA Gin Distilleries will be participating in the trail, including Prohibition small-batch gin which echo the origins of 1920s bootleggers, Route 9 which is a boutique distillery in the Adelaide Hills, Applewood who create a range of different gins sourcing a majority of its botanicals from Australian owned farms, Little Juniper Distilling Co which is an award winning certified organic spirits producer and many, many more.

There will also be a gin masterclass held upstairs for anyone wanting to dive-deeper in the world of gin (details to come).

The delectable eateries at Plant 3 and Plant 4 will be open throughout the event, ensuring attendees can savour a range of culinary delights. Some notable eateries to explore include Pawarna Dessert Bar, where you can indulge in mouthwatering desserts, and Little Banksia Tree, a new cafe that has captured the hearts of the community.

“We created the Plant 3 space to be ‘same-same but different’ as Plant 4. What’s exciting about Plant 3 is the addition of Bowden Cellars, who was named Australia’s favourite small wine bar at the 2022 national Wineslinger Awards,” Jonathon says.

“Plus, Bowden Brewing who brew in house and distribute to a large number or restaurants and bars. The space has allowed businesses to create their own space…it’s really a a great community where everyone gets together and supports each other.”

In addition to the gin tastings and gastronomic experiences, attendees can look forward to a DJ spinning tunes across both Plant 3 and Plant 4, courtesy of Entertainment Adelaide. After enjoying the trail, guests are encouraged to hit the dance floor and let loose, sipping on gin cocktails and revelling in the vibrant atmosphere.
