SA’s hard border with Vic could open within two weeks

Within two weeks, South Australia may be able to move to a home-based, fourteen day isolation system for Victorians entering the state.

Premier Steven Marshall has provided an update on South Australia’s further eased restrictions post today’s Transition Committee meeting.

As of midnight today, the South Australian “border communities” will not be required to undergo weekly COVID-19 tests.

The Premier stated “hopefully” within two weeks, South Australia will be able to move to a home-based, fourteen day isolation system for Victorians entering the state.

“This is great news for families, particularly in the lead-up to Christmas,” said the Premier.

The Premier also revealed in around two weeks, “vertical consumption” may be allowed inside hospitality venues.

The Transition Committee is investigating the necessary technology, which may include QR codes and scanners, to ensure contact tracing methods are in place should stand-up drinking inside be permitted.

More to come.
