SA Health announce new Mount Gambier exposure site

SA Health has identified a new COVID-19 exposure location in South Australia associated with a positive case of COVID-19.

SA Health has identified a new COVID-19 exposure location in South Australia associated with a positive case of COVID-19.

If you attended an exposure location, you are required to follow the relevant health advice. Investigations in the Mount Gambier region are continuing and the website will be updated as soon as any additional exposure locations are identified.

The exposure sites come after a woman in her 40’s tested positive for COVID on Sunday after returning home from Victoria with the current border bubble. While it was previously believed she had not visited any locations since positive, a new site was announced today in relation to the case.

TIER 4 Exposure Sites

If you were at the below locations, monitor yourself for symptoms and get tested as soon as they develop.

  • Mount Gambier – SipnSave – South Eastern Hotel
  • Friday 1 October – 5.30pm to 6.05pm

If you were at any of the above locations, but not at the specified date and time, monitor yourself for symptoms and get tested as soon as symptoms develop. You may not always receive a call, SMS or email from SA Health. You must follow the relevant health advice even if you have not been contacted.

If you have any COVID-19 symptoms, no matter how mild, please seek testing as soon as possible.

The border bubble will reduce from 70kms to 30kms for a 7 day period. Dr Nicola Spurrier has asked anyone considering crossing the border in the border bubble to reconsider if it’s not crucial.

This time next week, to cross the border, you’ll need at least one vaccine. Testing every 7 days will be reimposed for those crossing the border in that border bubble, with further changes may be required as we learn more about this case.
