SA Health announce second positive covid case in truck driver in two days

Chief Public Health Officer Nicola Spurrier this afternoon addressed the South Australian public in regards to a second truck driver who’s tested positive to covid.

Chief Public Health Officer Nicola Spurrier this afternoon addressed the South Australian public in regards to a second truck driver who’s tested positive to covid.

The man in his thirties travelled to Adelaide from Victoria and tested positive today.

She says although freight drivers are required to get the jab, the man was unvaccinated putting two new exposure sites on the list.

These two new exposure sites include:

The Liberty Service Station in Glenunga, on 1st October 2021 at 1.59am

Coles Express at Tailem Bend, on 1st October 2021 at 3.45am

Due to the times associated with the exposure sites, Spurrier says there’s no great concern that members of the public were present at the time, however that we should still be aware of the locations.

She says it’s the ninth truck driver to test positive to covid, and a timely reminder to ensure we are booking in to get jabbed.

This comes after yesterday’s announcement of a truck driver testing positive and being one of the two active cases remaining in the state.

If you were at either of these locations at the specified date and time, you must immediately quarantine for 14 days since you were there, get tested immediately and get tested again on day 5 and day 13. Visit the SA Health website to complete an online form and notify SA Health you were at this location.

Spurrier has maintained that checking in with QR codes is still extremely important, as is making sure you are getting your vaccines.

If you have any COVID-19 symptoms, no matter how mild, please seek testing as soon as possible.
