Chief Public Health Officer Nicola Spurrier this afternoon addressed the South Australian public in regards to two new covid cases in SA today.
A South Australia freight driver in his sixties is amongst the two cases, who travelled between SA and NSW, testing yesterday with a positive result returned today. Six new tier 3 exposure sites have been identified as a result including:
Caltex, Yamba – Thursday 7th October, between 9pm-9.45pm
BP (and station toilet), Blanchtown – Thursday 7th October, between 11.15pm and midnight.
Star Laundromat, Salisbury North – Friday 8th October, between 8.45am and 9.45am
Drakes, Salisbury North – Friday 8th October, between 9am and 9.45am
OTR, Elizabeth – Friday 8th October, between 2.30am-3.30am and 9.30am-10.30am
If you were at either of these locations at the specified date and time, you must immediately quarantine for 14 days since you were there, get tested immediately and get tested again on day 5 and day 13. Visit the SA Health website to complete an online form and notify SA Health you were at this location.
The second person who tested positive, a woman in her fifties is of low-concern as she has travelled from overseas and has been in a medi-hotel.
Spurrier has maintained that checking in with QR codes is still extremely important, as is making sure you are getting your vaccines.
If you have any COVID-19 symptoms, no matter how mild, please seek testing as soon as possible.
