SA Police update on Task Force Protect

Police have seized mobile phones, a laptop, and a hard drive, all directly related to the person of interest who is in quarantine.

More than 400 hours of closed-circuit television footage from Peppers Waymouth Hotel has been examined as part of Task Force Protect’s ongoing investigation.

Assistant South Australian Police Commissioner stated the CCTV footage is being examined for both contact tracing purposes, as well as any potential criminal activity.

“There’s a real partnership here with health,” said the Assistant Commissioner.

The Assistant Commissioner confirmed the person of interest, who is still in quarantine, has been spoken to by detectives from the task force, and has thus far been cooperative.

Police have seized mobile phones, a laptop, and a hard drive, all directly related to this person.

Two additional persons of interest remain in quarantine, and are seeking legal advice and representation before interviews with police can commence.

The Assistant Commissioner says he expects the investigation to continue for several days.

More to come.
