The South Australian suburb which the highest percentage of singles, has a whopping 60% of residents classified as individuals not in a registered or de facto marriage, aged 15 and above.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) has unveiled data pinpointing the suburbs across Australia with the highest percentage of singles.

Leading the pack in South Australia is Davoren Park, boasting a significant 60% of singles, according to the ABS.

Davoren Park is a suburb at the northern extent of the Adelaide metropolitan area, in the City of Playford. The suburb was formed as part of a merger between Elizabeth Field and the northern part of Elizabeth West on 11 November 1993.

Sharing the same percentage of singles as Davoren Park is Fortitude Valley in Queensland, echoing the sentiment of love-seekers across state borders.

Other notable suburbs across Australia include Carlton in Victoria with a staggering 67% of singles, Bentley in Western Australia with 64%, Haymarket in New South Wales with 61%, and Braddon with 55%. In the Northern Territory, Darwin takes the lead with 49% of singles, while in Tasmania, Glenorchy claims the title with 54%.

The statistics, derived from the ABS Census of Population and Housing conducted in 2021, delineate singles as individuals not in a registered or de facto marriage, aged 15 and above.

The ABS, Australia’s national statistical agency, is responsible for providing accurate, timely, and relevant statistical information to inform decision-making and shape public policy. Their data, including this revelation about the concentration of singles in various suburbs, serves as a valuable resource for individuals, businesses, and governments alike.
