Two of our very own South Australian actors have won big at this years Golden Globes.
Local star Sarah Snook took home the globe for ‘Best Supporting Actress’ in a series for her role in the hit show, Succession.
Adelaide’s Kodi Smit-McPhee also scored ‘Best Supporting Actor’ in a motion picture for his part in the western film, The Power of the Dog, becoming one of the youngest actors to nab the award at the age of 25.
Both were nominated alongside other Australian stars, including Hollywood heavyweight Nicole Kidman who won best actress for her film, Being the Ricardos.
The 79th Golden Globes were held in Los Angeles in what was a scaled-back, private ceremony, as a result of the organisation being the subject of criticism for a lack in diversity, as well as claims of corruption last year.
One of the biggest Hollywood award shows in the run-up to the Oscars, this years event went ahead without any telecast, red carpet or live stream – with members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association attending a 90-minute gathering and announcing the winners via social media.
