SA Tourism shows its worth at the Australian Tourism Awards

The Australian tourism industries’ night of nights has seen South Australian destinations win gold and place high within their fields.

The 2021 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards was held in Queensland on Friday, March 18, 2022.

The awards were first established in 1985 and is the tourism industry’s peak event which helps recognise and promote excellence within the field.

The awards saw prominent and popular South Australian destinations scattered throughout the final’s field.

SA’s beautiful Beach Huts Middleton claimed gold for 3-3.5 Star Accommodation. Coming in second was Alexandra Hotel and third was SurfPoint Resort.

Murray River Trails in Murtho took out silver in the Ecotourism Category. Live Ningaloo took out the gold and it was bronze for the Tasmanian Walking Company.

It was another well deserved second place for SA’s Vasse Virgin at Seppeltsfield in the Tourism Retail & Hire Services field. Coal River Farm took out the gold and Pelican Boat Hire walked away with the bronze.

North Terrace establishment, The Guardsman finished up with the bronze in the Tourism Restaurants and Catering Services category.

Following in the footsteps of The Guardsman, Woodhouse Activity Centre also won the bronze in the Unique Accommodation field. Pumphouse Point took out the gold with Sierra Escape taking second. GOLD in Unique Accommodation.

Australia’s Best New Tourism Business saw Eos by SkyCity take out the bronze and Wilsons Promontory Cruises winning the gold and Kittawa Lodge taking home second place.

There was a big cheers for the Bundaberg Rum Distillery Visitor Experience who won gold three years in a row in the Tourism Wineries, Distilleries and Breweries category. The distillery is now in the hall of fame.

SA’s Seppeltsfield Wines took the bronze and Heifer Station Wines won the silver.
