Medieval enthusiasts rejoice! The South Australian Viking Festival is returning to Victor Harbour next month for a weekend of whole family fun.

Visitors can expect to be transported to another world as they walk through the gates of the event, greeted with a range of stalls, re-enactment groups and combat shows.

There will be a number of woodworkers and leather workers offering handcrafted and personalised tankards and wooden products for purchase over the weekend.

The Viking Tavern will be stocking a range of flavoured meads from Thistle Meadery, and there will be also range of animals from Animal Capers to interact with.

Most notably, there will a classic combat area for fighters to battle toe to toe — and now perhaps a second, where organisers of the festival say, “where anything goes and the prize is glory”.

A special “viking feast” for over enthusiasts aged 18+ is available, in which you can be treated to a three-course feast of “hearty warmers, slow-cooked meats, roast vegetables and feast platters to end the night, plus entertainment” organisers revealed on their Facebook site. The location of which has been yet to be released.

There will be limited tickets available due to COVID-19 restrictions, so tickets are recommended to be purchased online.

Adult tickets are from $18, concession/students from $14, and under 10s can get in for free.

The South Australian Viking Festival will be held on October 2-3 at the Warland Reserve in Victor Harbour from 10am-4pm. Tickets are now available to purchase on https://www.trybooking.com/events/landing?eid=787957&
