It’s a wine lover’s dream come true. Pinot Palooza is coming to the Adelaide Gaol on 5 August! This wine festival brings the finest Pinot Noirs produced in the southern hemisphere to eight cities across Australia and New Zealand. The event kicks off from 1pm and lasts until 6pm, making the PERFECT afternoon, don’t you think?
The festival showcases 21 wine regions, including none other than South Australian winery, Tomich Wines. Tomich has its vineyard in the Onkaparinga Valley and is one of the largest cool climate vineyards in the Adelaide Hills. The grapes grown in cool climates produce intense, pure fruit flavours, that create complex and delicate wines.
Tomich has a number of different Pinot Noirs across their collection, and will be showcasing four of these wines at Pinot Palooza. Here’s a sneak peak at some of their pinot tasting notes:
General Admission Pinot Palooza tickets are selling for $65 each and include samples of all wines available for tasting on the day, with a huge crystal Plumm RedB glass valued at $35 – eliminating any need for pesky tokens.
The next step up are the VIP tickets that will give you exclusive pre-event access from 11am till 1pm, a food voucher, glass of ‘fancy’ wine from the SOMM BAR and time with a ‘local legend’ sommelier to help curate your event experience. VIP tickets are limited and cost $110 each.
Don’t forget to being some extra cash for food and other drinks in case *gasp* you need to refresh your pinot tasting palate for a moment. There will also be some other noteworthy wineries showcasing on the day like d’Arenberg and Henschke.
If you still can’t get enough of your pinot fix, check out the Tomich website and cellar door at 87 King William Road, Unley. Opening hours are Monday to Saturday 11am to 5pm.
