SA Winery Wirra Wirra Launches Australia’s First Winery-Based Gift Registry

Pots and pans as a wedding gift? No thanks! Make way for Pinot and Shiraz with Australia’s first winery-based gift registry, Wine Registry.

Because you probably already have a kettle, a toaster, and too many throw pillows, the popular McLaren Vale winery Wirra Wirra has launched Australia’s first winery-based gift registry to help couples build their dream cellar.

Designed for wine-loving couples, Wine Registry is the easy way to grow your wine collection with a little help from your friends.

According to Wirra Wirra CEO, Andrew Kay, these sort of gifts to celebrate weddings, anniversaries and other special moments is a reflection of the times.

“Couples are getting married later in life and have often lived together prior to tying the knot. They already own pots, pans and a toaster, Wine Registry gives them an opportunity to receive a gift they actually want,” said Kay.

“We see so many couples coming through our cellar door developing a mutual appreciation of wine, this is the perfect gift they can share together for years to come and it’s fun.”

To help you get started with your collection, enjoy a private tasting at Wirra Wirra and select from award-winning McLaren Vale and Adelaide Hills wines.

Couples can also choose from a range of glassware and accessories from Riedel and wine fridges from Vintec.

So how can newlyweds get set up with Wine Registry?

“The first step is to book a private tasting with us. Our host will guide couples through the wines and help curate their dream cellar. The selection is very broad and covers all the bases from ready to drink whites to long term cellaring reds to hold onto for significant anniversaries,” said Andrew.

“Wedding guests will be able to nominate which wines they want to gift from the couples chosen registry or add to a money pot and let the couple decide for themselves.”

“We will then send the wine after their big day, or when the couple return from their honeymoon.”
